Get them to send you a copy of the Window sticker. There may be other options you don't see in the pics. It could have the technology package, it could have the power tailgate lock, it could have the LED bed lights. Is it 4wd vs the other one was 2wd? There are several different options that can be added from different dealers that affect price. Window tint, mop and glow treatment, clear bra, pinstripe.
Get a pic of the window sticker and let us see. There is also a thread in the sticky that shows MSRP vs. Invoice on all the add ons.

Invoice on a 2019 double cab TRD sport 4x4 is 33,775, I would start there for pricing.

I got you. He already tried to sneak in 36.2k with addons like protection package, and it left a bad taste in my mouth. So our trust was on shaky ground. And I'm not trying to nickle and dime him, but he just sent me the one he had ordered for me and I feel like he was hoping I wouldn't notice. I asked him for the sticker, but he didn't get back to me. So while it may have the tech package, and I would take that into consideration, I don't want to walk away thinking I got taken advantage of.

If he would have told me, "We had to order this from a dealer 1000 miles away, so there is an extra charge, I would have said understood.

I would shop around for a 18 u will get a better price on one . lots of dealerships will try to move inventory to make way for 19's and discount trucks . But u have to remember these trucks sell quick so If u find one u like and get a good price on it jump on it . Also check out true car and kbb in your area it will tell you what other people payed for that truck and values .Negotiation is hard depends on what u want a specific car payment or price of truck u cant get both . Good luck with the vultures lol hope that helps a bit .

Maybe the 2nd one has a Premium or a Tech Package and that is why it's higher.

Find the sales guy who will work for you. Do your homework, then tell him call me when you find me a truck at my price.

This approach will work if you offer is reasonable.

The right sales guy does not care if the dealership makes a few more bucks, he will do the hard work.

If you are lucky enough to live where several dealerships are, you can have multiple people looking.

No don’t call or go into any dealerships, email all in your area and ask for the best price on a truck your interested in. Then take the lowest price and email it to everyone else, you stop when the last dealer says that’s as low as I’ll go, and then ask again haha. This has always worked for me and I’ve gotten the best price I can because of it. My current 2018 TRD OR DCSB 4x4 auto had a sticker of 39,9xx and I paid 33,900 for it. I haggled for a month before we came to terms, and never talked to anyone on the phone only through emails. The internet salesman is your best bet for a deal. Good luck either way.

I used to use fax for the same reason. Can't negotiate with a fax or email.

    I will try to explain.

If you are the dealer is not effective to do so, mostly counter productive, and most dealerships will not do so. Theirj job is to get you to come in period.

What worked for me when using a fax was.
    1. Title is basic, and not to a specific vendor.
Example:. "2019 TACOMA OFF ROAD - Toyota Dealer Austin/San Antonio/Dallas/Houston region"
    2. List the exact config you want (lookup using their inventory).
    3. List Offer Price
    4. Write "FAX MATCHING OFFERS ONLY."

The result was generally interested sales people would submit best offer or try to get you to come in.

    5. Ignore anything but the offers.
    6. Wait....more hours pass the better.
    7. Send response to offers with you best offer. Ask them if they can meet or match.

Very similar using email. Ignore anyone who trys to get you to come in, or give you a call, or talk about other vehicles etc.

So that is what I meant by "can't".

Gotcha. Yea I never waste my time going in unless it’s to sign and drive home. I was in and out in about an hour and half after we had already made the deal through email. Even last minute they tried to throw some extra “fees” on and change my payment, I kindly said if those aren’t removed I will leave. It was a matter of $70.00 but I would have walked just out of principal, we agreed to a price and that was that.

One of my first jobs was to answer phones and check inventory for computers we had in stock.

What I found was that if I really hustled and checked inventory as quickly as possible, the person on the phone just asked me to check a second config third config etc.

If instead i took my time, chatted it up with the cashier, grabbed a soda etc. when I would go back to the phone to tell the customer what we had in stock, and asked if I could check something else for them..... their reply was always "no I'll just come in" which was the best case scenario.

I've always used the Costco program to get a good idea of a fair deal. I think you can often still do better at a different dealer, but it's a great way to get a baseline.

In my area, the dealerships off the beaten path have to do better and they know it. It is absolutely apparent by the fact that new dealerships do well because older ones are disliked so much.

This is pretty much my plan. I don't live near a dealership so it is a good incentive for me to create some pre competition before I walk into a dealership

It doesn't. I checked through the details. But I'm going to be nice about it, I just feel like he was taking some liberties. I am new to new car buying and am kind of a novice to negotiating.

I'm not an off roader, but live in a rural area with bad weather and the 4wd is good for me. I like the look of the sport, and tbh those are the only ones I've test driven so far.

    Ok. Sounds good.

Are you aware that the Offroad has a larger rear differential? Not sure it matters to you...
