Reasonable out the door price?

Hi all. New member here who also isn't overly computer savvy or much of an "internet guy." Therefore, my apologies in advance if this is redundant or in the wrong place.

I haven't purchased a new truck in a very long time. However, I have an allocation and after a fairly long wait I received the word a few days ago that a permanent VIN has been assigned and the dealership is guesstimating delivery in 3-4 weeks. Pretty exciting stuff!

I'm curious if the out the door price (circled in red) is reasonable. The "dealer installed packages" is something I'm going to be asking a lot of questions about as I'm not exactly sure what that even entails. Otherwise, as far as everything else goes it seems I can live with it.

Finding a manual transmission has been really tough. Getting an allocation for one has taken a lot of looking. I had to resort to purchasing this in a neighboring State. Maybe that's me doing something wrong though. Anyways, all thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

Darn! Sorry guys. Like I said I’m not much of a digital/internet guy. I’ll try again to post my invoice.

In the meantime, here is a summary. 2023 Tacoma four door in metallic grey which was my number one color choice. Manual transmission which I mentioned was very difficult to find.

Out the door at $46,525. Includes some added accessories which allegedly they can’t do anything about. Dealer installed, port installed, factory installed. The dealer installed are nearly $2,300 which I’m a bit unsure about (and suspicious) and have a lot of questions for my salesperson. The other stuff I can live with.

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks!

Yea, would need more info… SR/SR5/TRD SPORT
If there is an “add on” sheet next to the window sticker, it’s dealer markup.
Toyota puts factory and port installs on the MSRP window sticker.
Your region determines the possible monopolies (SET & GST).
There should be a thread with costs help (invoice, holdback, etc). There is a shortage, so it’s not the best negotiating position, but knowledge is your friend. When you know and they know you know… it’s a more balanced position.

I don’t see any mandatory dealer accessories? Your below MSRP and doc fee isn’t outrageous like Florida. It also has LED lights and a manual. Why didn’t you buy it already?

 

what are the dealer installed accessories for $2294? even so, it seems like they knocked off a grand before taxes.

Yes, able to see it now. What ‘we all’ might be looking for is something along the lines of… a window sticker or a different page of yor invoice that might show items like these... see highlights. Shows stuff the dealer ordered added on at the port. Hey... these floor mats are awesome!!

 

I'd find out what the 2300 in dealer add on's are. Other than that, not a bad price IMO. Actually pretty good

Seriously thanks for the replies. If you read my first post I actually am buying this. It’s my allocation that I’ve been waiting on for quite a spell that now has a VIN and should be shipped off relatively soon.

The $2,300 for the dealer accessories is something I’m confused about and will be going in on Monday to talk to the salesperson about. Before that I am here just asking for thoughts to try and obtain some information.

Either way this is my truck. I’m just trying to figure if I can knock the price down at least a little bit.

I'm waiting on my MGM as well and wouldn't be surprised if I got the call on Monday that it arrived. So here's the info on my install. Take a look next to the options. You'll see FIO (Factory Installed Option - which can't be deleted), PIO (Port Installed Option - which CAN be deleted), and you'll notice there is no DIO (Dealer Installed Option - which can also be deleted). When I received the first one of these it had some of the garbage yours had (floor liners, black out package, and a couple other things). The dealer had them removed before the truck was built. I was supposed to get LED headlights and foglights (FIO) but they got missed. I wanted the tech package and the off road package.

I left the bed lights because for the access cab it's about the same price as buying all the needed individual parts and installing it manually (without the warranty). For a double cab it's a ripoff because you already have everything needed except the 2 lights in the back which are like 50 bucks and a 15 minute install. A set of Weathertechs or Huskys would cost about that so the price for the mats aren't TOO bad, but it's a massive profit margin for them. I also had them delete the mudflaps... then I had the parts dept. order them for me at a discount. They're like a 5 to 10 minute install. Saved me like $80.

But this is exactly what I'm paying. If you're interested I can find the original one of these which had all the garbage options on it.

and all have our own opinion,

but I think it seems fair.

Dealer add on accessory sounds like a scam …I would try to negotiate that down .

 

I am going to stay out of this, but dealer accessories can be deleted off that invoice and you can probably find those cheaper elsewhere. Unless it's convenient for to have them just add them on and you pay the interest on the financing.
