Falck4 I think you work for a competitor; which is fine but you don't belong here. Period. Love my 0 problems '18!

lol wait did you just say most of your post in a matter-of-fact tone and then at the end ask "anyone else having these issues?"

I think you may be own your own here about not buying a 2018 Tacoma.
The windshield has nothing to do with Toyota. Windshields are made by vendors, typically Pilkington or Carlite and they go in any and every manufacturers's vehicle. I think MOPAR are the one ones that make their own glass.
I lifted my truck, new wheels and larger tires within the first 1000 miles of ownership and everything works on my truck as it did from the factory. Reading through the 3rd Gen forum, I am not the only one successful at this.
The engine transmission debate will continue until 3rd Gens are considered antiques so no need to waste time on that one.
And you might wanna clean your truck if you have a terrible interior smell. Don't know anyone that would buy a brand new car that didn't smell like a brand new car.

I had geico for several years since the time I was 19. Had $0 dollar glass coverage. The windshield in my frontier chipped and cracked and needed to be replaced. Geico footed the bill from safelite and it didn’t cost me a cent. My premium never increased.

Ended up switching to liberty mutual because my cousin works for them. Geico was always by far the cheapest by several hundred dollars or more per year vs anyone else, living in NY. My cousin hooked me up with a bunch of discounts and had me switch my homeowners over too for more savings. This helped saved a bunch of money and allowed my rates to be cheaper than Geico with better limits and coverage. So it really was a no brainer. I will say Geico was great to me. Had 2 accident claims over the course of 10 years with them. One while still on my moms policy when I was 16 and one several years later on my own. Claim was around 8k on that and my rates never went up afterwards.

    Reasons

    1. Entune sucks.....period.
    2. Toyota has been lazy.....no other explanation why truck does not have industry leading seat options.
    3. New entries to mid size truck market will force Toyota to innovate.

The market will force them to do things they should have done 15 years ago, however I wouldn’t expect much in “innovation”

I’d honestly expect a full electric Tacoma before I think they would ever add a power seat option. And that all electric Tacoma would still probably have rear drums lol

That’s not really fair. He’s just saying that he feels his 2018 feels like a first year new generation vehicle. It’s a fair view, I just don’t agree. I don’t think he’s a shill though.

I love my 2018 Sport 4x4 6spd manual, but time will tell. I have had problems with the TSS, it’s been replaced once and is going back in for the same problem again. 12,500.00 miles and counting, fingers crossed. I think all new vehicle’s in this day and age are suffering from technology growing pains, some more than others.

I had TSS issues a week after I got the truck. I was irritated initially because it was a new truck, but I was also mindful that it's a Toyota and that it would be fixed. It's been 6 months now and the Taco is performing well. I also added the Pro grille and the TSS works fine. It has alerted me when needed. It's a good truck.

I might try the grill upgrade if the dealer is willing to foot the bill. My TSS has been replaced once already and is going back again for the same problem. It might work better in the Pro grill setup versus the nonpro grill. My system does not like bright sunlight.

I highly doubt that the dealer will pay to put a Pro Grille in Sport. If they do, I will be highly jealous. Good luck!

Bummer that you have to go back. It would be great if the dealer would switch it up with the Pro grille. Hope it turns out well for you.

It’s not the camera mount that drives up the cost. There’s a camera near the rear view mirror that works with the TSS system. You could probably replace without the camera but would be sacrificing TSS and adaptive cruise control.

In January the new Ranger Bob Comes out, Heard good things about it, ha ha.
Sounds like it is right up your alley, plus it hauls ass.

If you didn't tailgate other drivers, you wouldn't have busted the windshield,
    ever think about that.

If it malfunctions a third time I will file a claim with Toyota and the truck will be staying at the dealership until it is corrected. They will need to step up there game , I financed through Toyota so I have some leverage.
