Oh and I just noticed you have an 80 LC. Much respect, my buddy has one and it's a beast offroad.

 

Mine eats actuators like tic tacs.

 

That sucks man. I helped my buddy install a rebuilt 4.5 motor. I can swap a civic motor in a weekend. The LC took us a month haha. Extremely well built, and he leaves my taco in the dust on the trail.

 

Can you shoehorn that 1FZ-FE engine into a 1st or 2nd gen? Couldn't find the dimensions but love I6 engines.

Wife's Volvo has 3.2 I6 transverse mounted. Smooth as butter and revs nicely.

 

Love me some straight 6 as well. The motor is big AF. But enough hacking and I bet it can be done.

Bought mine brand new, have about 130K on it. Have had some small issues -the engine wiring harness melted about 7 years ago, had to do the head gasket, sun roof had a pesky leak, the aforementioned actuators and the rear arch also leaked.

For everyone complaining about the third gen Tacoma's performance...let me in on a little secret......don't buy an 80 series, even an FZ.

 

They are very expensive to repair. They hold their value though. Yours with low mileage will bring some $$.

 

Is a fuel pump replacement a same day job? I don't wanna be without a ride for any amoint of time.

 

Probably not

 

Its the fuel pump on the motor, its just going to be a computer reflash per the service manager at the local dealership.

My 2019 went into Toyota for 15k mile service yesterday, and no recalls...

 

Whew!!! Looks like I dodged that particular recall....My four cylinder 4x4 can't do 80.
