I got a letter in the mail from Toyota this afternoon. It's called an "Update to Load Carrying Capacity Modification (Addendum) Label".

That's fancy talk for a sticker they want me to put inside the door jam saying my truck can carry 4 fewer pounds. WTF?!

Has anybody else received this letter/sticker?

It's only for the 09's right? If I went in with an 08 what would they do? Just wondering I've seen people talking about it.

The conversion Math doesn't work out on that sticker, looks like the Canadians are getting hosed by .4 lbs. and IIRC they are the ones that get the 4 leaf pack without having to get a dealer to install the TSB springs

so its cause toyota decided they want the truck to go 180km/h and put passenger tires on instead of a little bit slower and put a c rated tires on that can handle the payload rating of the truck lol

    wow. Thats horrible.

Ford, in the 1970s, should have sent out stickers to all the Pinto owners that said.

"Avoid rear end crashes as your car will explode"

Is this how companies are handling TSBs? Not posting a bulletin but rather send everyone stickers validating the trucks shortcomings.

    Pathetic.

Mine has a -298 lb sticker. Thats like 1/4 of the payload gone.
