    Tune, regear or both.
The Tacoma in standard form is a dog. A go anywhere, good looking, do anyrhing dog.
A pedal commander is nothing more than a throttle adjustment tool. There a more specific wording for it, but it basically gives you more pedal without pushing as far. So, just push further and it's same same.

First of all let the truck settle in for a while. The trans will learn your driving habits . Second the throttle is purposely set up to be slow in comparison to your foot . Thirdly all the torque on this engine is in the higher revs unlike a your diesel.
I would wait at least 3 k miles before you do anything
Pedal commander style device will make it feel faster
Gears will help with off the line torque
But next inline would be to tune it
Like I said give it a chance for a while the motor is new let it break in .
Run a few tanks of 91 octane also

Sounds like you got a 4 banger if it takes that long to get around someone. I don't have issues passing or getting around people if i feel i need to. Might just need to break it in like others have said.

Same. I drop from 6th to 4th and pass at will, or 3rd if I want to let them hear my engine roar.

I’m a little over 3k miles and it seems peppier than when I first got her. I’ve also adjusted by hitting the gas a little harder.

Your vehicle is near that tail end where it's losing value at a much lower rate than new vehicles. Tacomas kinda break this chart a bit where it brings it more linear, but still keeps that shape - value falls off when it's new.

Agreed - do you mean Frontier or Titan? The titan is the Tundra competitor/size, that should be 6ft bed/have an option, but I don't know much about Nissans full size lineup.

If I were you - I'd just keep your truck. Mileage is about the same to the turd gens, features are about the same to the turd gens, and you have it paid off and low depreciation. What mileage? About 250k? If it's running good and not rusted, you got another 100k before you need to worry, I would think.

Just my .02$, if you were comparing it to an econobox with radar this and blind spot that, maybe. But if you're keeping it 1:1 for features for the most part, not worth it.

To answer the original question - I'm on a 2020 6A, with the TSB reflash and am very happy. It rides and drives like a leaf spring, body on frame, truck. It ain't a WRX, I think a lot of people come here from a WRX/Subbie/sedan and expect it to drive like that not expecting it to be a ..... truck. I am very happy with it, no complaints.

Yup. These trucks are gutless. They're not for going fast, they're for trucking around the backcountry (also known as Home depot parking lot) and getting somewhat OK MPGs while doing so.

It's definitely not a 4 banger. I was obviously exaggerating about the mile, but I do feel like it takes a longer time than it should unless I press it hard enough to drop it to down to a low enough gear that it starts moving like I want it to (I haven't quite figured out the gears yet by the sound, so I'm not sure if it's dropping to 3rd or 4th). I usually drive around 80 to 85 mph, so when I'm going around someone, it's usually from around 70 to 75mph. I drive 50 miles one way to work every morning and there are a lot of people that like to drive exactly the speed limit and don't like to get out of the left-hand lane when they should.

At 10:26, Chloe goes over page 163 of the Owner's Manual.

I know I didn't follow these guidelines but I wasn't too harsh on my Sport--I drove like I had a "Novice Driver" magnet label on my truck. lol

Seriously, I was advised by salesperson not to drive it hard or tow.

I'll go on record as saying the tacoma will never get the same motor as the tundra. Be pretty cool if it did tho. There are speculations to the 4th gen powerplant but the Tundra Turbo 6 is not one I've seen anywhere.

Yep. I put a fart can on it the size of a 20 pound propane cylinder.

The 3rd gen has been on the road since 2015. And they’ve sold a shit ton of units each year. I’d say the body of evidence is statistically significant at this point.

Correct. To add to that, it’s a Toyota which has an undeniable track record of reliability.

Yes, the truck has a CAI and TRD exhaust, hence the roar.

I love my 2020 TRD Off Road DCSB! I liked my 09 a bit better. All in all, I am extremely happy with my purchase. 64 K, no issues and going strong!

I love the looks, reliability, off road capability, great in the snow and MOST of the tech.

The short list of things I do not like are:
    • I absolutely HATE the wonky gear hunting in the auto transmission. It is BS that Toyota put these on the road like that! I had the KDMaxx tune done and it helped incredibly. However, it is far from perfect.
    • The truck beeps at you for EVERYTHING!
    • Plastic oil filter housing
    • I should have went for the long bed. My fault on that...
    • I miss my CD player. Yup, I am old...
All things considered, it really is a great truck. Would I buy another one? You bet!!!
