YES! Toyota just called me and said my truck is still covered and to take it to the dealer of my choice and get it inspected.

When did you get yours inspected? I haven't gotten mine yet and the dealership is thinking that it ended in March. I was told by Toyota that it was covered though. Lol

I took it for inspection on March 28th and they told me it could take about 2 or 3 weeks to get an answer but I think it went pretty fast.

The limited service campaign for the frames on the second gen's ended March 31st. But, has nothing to do with the first gen's. Don't let your dealership try to tell you otherwise. If Toyota Corp said it is going to be covered, it is going to be covered.

While they are replacing your frame, if there is anything you need to replace, Shocks......etc, this would be the time to do it with free labor.

As long as the truck was sprayed under the service bulletin by Toyota you will get your frame replaced by Toyota. They will def refill your coolant but doubt they will bleed the system. Same with brake fluid, they gotta bleed the system but doubt it will be a full fluid replacement. It's a great feeling to have a nice new frame to work with and keep up.

I think I should of bought a used 1st generation, because Toyota aren't giving the 2nd generation owners who had their frames sprayed a 15 year warranty, so if we get a perforation now, we basically have a large paperweight.

I told Toyota, I have a neighbor that has a 2004 Tacoma, that had the CRC sprayed. My neighbor said, "the spray just came off and was then given a new frame". I even said, the 2004 will be warrantied till 2018 and we are warrantied to the ended in 2014, for the ones that got it inspected early, so 9 years less of a warranty for the 2008. A 2008 inspected in 2014 had a 6 year warranty on the frame, while a 2004 had 15 years, so how fair is that with 9 less years???

Be happy, 2009+ trucks most likely will not even get CRC spray, and definitely not going to get frame replacement. Now talking about shit out of luck...

@Bxnanaz Sounds great, man. Looks like you going to get new parts.

Yeah, I just hope with this silent recall Toyota had going, that most of the 2009+ (even if Toyota says they made changes to frame coatings after 2008) know about the very long history of frame rot problems and gets their frames treated or move to Canada, where they all get a 15 year warranty.

Yeah I don't know if they made any changes to frame coating.
Everybody claimed Toyota made changes to 2Gen trucks because 1gen had problems. That has turn out to be not true.
So I would not hold my breath.
My 1gen end up crashed, 2 gen now got new frame, So i have little faith anything changed.

Congrats OP!! Good thing the truck was sprayed before, it's my understanding that if they weren't treated by a certain point then they were not eligible for the replacement right?

I got lucky that my new '04 was kept in Arizona which is like one of maybe 4 states where you don't really have to worry about rust, lol.

Good luck with the new frame! She'll be like a new truck

Will the dealership be providing you with the rental? Most have a rental department and I don't know if they have the same age restrictions as the others do

Now when you get it back with the new frame, I urge you to consider Fluid Film coating each fall......

That is good to hear and it will extend the life of your truck + add to the resale value too.
