Discard this cable. I just installed the lights in my truck...it is an extra cable that is not used in the Tacoma headlights.

You should have gotten a cable that plugs into pic 1 and then plugs into both ballasts with plugs that look like the one in pic 2. But if pic 2 is all one cable, i didnt get that one.

well I finally got the headlights to work somehow (through trial and error) since the kit came with those to "bare" ends 1 black end, and 1 blue end I hooked up the blue end to the picture that you see, and grounded the black end and voila! they work:D I guess thats how your supposed to wire them, lol.

I do have a question though, with the shroud that is right beside the HID lightbulb, when I turned on the lights, it didnt shine from the bottom of the headlight as in it wouldnt hit the bottom of the truck. is that normal?

the shield over the bulb should be on the bottom not on top

once the bulb was installed, it is on the bottom, but the part of the headlight doesnt have light coming out of it because Im guessing that the shield reflects the light onto another place on the headlight? sorry if this is confusing...

the shield is so the bulb doesnt shine off the bottom of the reflector and blind people. that extra plug is because you didnt order the high low bulb. in our trucks it is one bulb. that wire is to connect to the high-beam bulb used in other vehicles with one bulb for high and one bulb for low.

The metal shield should be ON THE TOP of the HID bulb, it directs light downward, as not to blind. Do your lights come on when the high or low beam is selected inside the truck?
