Recommend 5 lug brake pads and rotors

    It's about time to change the brakes again. I hear a clunk when coming to a stop probably once on each 7 mile trip for work. I don't know what it is, but the brakes don't seem to work as good as new. They will shake some when tested. I changed the brakes and rotors in 2011 with 135k to bembo rotors (I think) and Hawk performance pads. It never really wowed me though. I now have 208k, and I'm thinking of saving some money and just buying Powerstop evolution kit.

    Does anybody care to correct me on this? I see suggestions of OEM brakes and aftermarket rotors but I don't really know what is good.

    Clunking may be bad control arm bushings or ball joints. For brakes, get semi metallic for braking power or ceramic for longevity and quietness.

    I would get the OEM. They have lasted many up to or beyond 100k and not all that expensive.

    Stay away from drilled and/or slotted rotors. The only thing they improve on besides looks is adding brake dust to your rims and decreasing longevity. I fell for those Powerstops and they were garbage. I removed them after about 6 months. Get a mid priced rotor with a name you recognize. I have used Wagner with great results and they have good pads also, but I would go with Akebono pads.

    ok, so I bought the dealer parts. Cost $215. I just hope my oversized tires aren't going to be an issue.
