how did they not fit? was the backspacing off or was the inside diameter of the rim too small?

backspacing (4-7/8) was too much. sounds like I could go with a different backspacing. But since I'm importing these from the US each time they fail to install I pay another $100 shipping

I can go to 4" BS or 3-5/8 BS, but I'm starting to think of ditching this model all-together.

Does anyone have a 2011 Sport DCSB with MT Classic IIs on them? If so please tell me the specs. Obviously Off-Roads have a different caliper configuration since all of the people that assured me these would fit have OffRoads.

Ok I ran into the same problem. I have KMC XD222 with a 4.75 backspacing that did not fit that backspacing is key. and I bet it only touched the caliper enough to not mate flat with the hub huh? If you dont want to spend alot of money and a trip look into a small spacer .25". with a spacer your studs will be shorter so dont beat it hard off road unless you change those out. a 4" backspacing should work but it will stick out about .5" on each side. I am running a 1" spacer on my wheels that bolt on to the hub and have seperate studs for the wheel which are taking a beating right now and work great. Those are a cheaper option than driving back to the US. you can probably find a pair for 100 bucks or so. The smaller the spacer the better IMO.

Thanks for the recommendation. However, isn't there an issue with running wheels that are of different backspacing from front to back? all 4 wheels need the exact same backspacing as far as i recall; otherwise you're misaligned when you hit a rut

Ok the reason PSU's wheel fit is because his came with 16s stock. The trucks that come with 17s come with larger calipers.

All a spacer does is change your backspacing. It will definitely be wider up front than the rear. I never had a real issue being mis alligned. hell im 7" wider per side than my rear right now and it is a little squirly when I really get on in off road. You can run spacers on all 4 tires too and that would solve it. All you need is something big enough so you can clear your caliper. If you run .25" spacers up front all you really shouldnt notice anything at all. thats only .5" wider in the front all together. Keep in mind also if you get a larger spacer than .25 "you may rub quite a bit without a lift or fenders. With my 1" spacer i had to lif the front end and get fender flares to get rid of all the rubbing, and I was running 1" spacers only up front.

who sells good wheels spacers? any recommendations? I read about some bearing issues with wheels spacers. Will .25" or .5" spacers have the issue?

none of the Classic IIs will fit? I'm thinking 3.625 BS will fit no problem and 4" BS will be cutting it close...

I bet you'll rub like crazy with 3.625, on the outside of the tire.

why does rubbing increase when the wheels are further out? I would think it's the other way around...

I'll have a 1.6" lift if that helps at all.

Because it increases the turning arc of the tire.

Rubbing can increase by pushing wheels to far out, as well as having them too far in. There's a sweet spot in the middle.

I see. Doesn't the offset adjust for this or does offset defeat the purpose of backspacing since it's the caliper that's in the way?

Offset and backspacing are two different ways of saying the same thing.

I have 265/75/16 Duratracs. I certainly dont want to be shaving my fenders...

Perhaps I need to give up on this wheel and find a wheel with 4.5" backspace that does clear the caliper.

I think I already answered the offset question above.

If all you are trying to fit is 265's then you can run anywhere from 5.5"-4.5" backspacing, assuming the wheel clears the calipers.

Yes you answered my offset question while I was posting. Thanks

So I guess my best bet is to reference the "Caliper and Hub Diagram" from your link to get all my measurements and then call the manufacturer to ensure clearance.

I've seen on here that most companies will tell you their 16's won't fit if you call.

I'd say a good course of action is to check folks builds, and if they have 16's then you know that type of wheel clears the calipers. Then just find that wheel in 4.5-5.5" backspacing and you're good to go.
