An older cop I'm friends with recommended the old police cruiser units. He was saying they're nearly bulletproof and very easy to operate and maintain since it auto deletes old footage.

Dents in roof from poorly loaded canoe. Broken side mirror from blown transfer truck tire. Scuffed up front bumper from thinking I was still in a corolla. Graham cracker embedded upholstery from a crazy kid.
I also have a G1W-C and I am completely happy with it so far.

how does the g1w-c work? does it start filming when i turn the key on? and stop when i turn the key off? if the card is full, does it record over it on its own?

do you have to do anything with it once it is installed??

never had one just curious how they work

It's my first dash cam. I put in a sd card, Put it on the mount, and plugged it. It starts recording when I start my truck and turns off when the truck does. It records on loop, so if nothing cool happens it just keeps going. The screen works great. My son loves it. It works well enough in low light. As a disclaimer I use it mostly for playing and in the hopes that I catch something cool on it like a UFO or big foot. I do use the rear view mirror mount. I leave it up all 24/7. It is pretty inconspicuous without the cord attached.
