Got hit with a rock on 80 coming back from Tahoe.

I have no deductible windshield replacement, but insurance wants to go through safelite. Been reading so many horrific stories about them, and I'd much rather support a small local business.

Any recommendations in the SF Bay Area?

Just so we're all on the same page - looking for options that is NOT safelite :)

I think the biggest problem is finding quality windshields regardless of the installer. Have you checked with a Toyota dealer to see if they can get an actual OEM windshield?

I made an appointment with Atlas Glass in San Mateo as they were recommended here in the past. I've requested OEM glass, so we'll see.

Did your insurance cover the cost? Was the glass anymore expensive than non-oem?

I requested oem glass and atlas worked with my insurance to get it approved. Since I have 0 deductible on glass, I did not pay a dime. I asked Atlas how much this would have been out of pocket with OEM glass, install, and calibration and was told about $1000

Were you able to wait for it or did you have to drop off and pickup later?

    Still happy with their work?
