Check your local Craigslist, Offerup, and Facebook Market place. Search "UCA". I've been finding a lot of new and lightly used options for sale, at some considerable savings.

    Edit: for example

I have been happy with my BDS for the several months that I've had them installed. They don't get much love on TW, but I'm guessing that is due to lack of advertising and forum support. Hard to get forum support when no one knows about them.

Besides being slightly used and perhaps you thought you got a good deal I would start with why the 2.5's? Having a clear picture of your intended use of the truck there may be better places to spend your money.

LOL I think the OP was asking for advice on which UCA to choose, not asking about where he should spend his money.

Agreed. But to give the best advice it is critical to understand ones goal. With only one inch of lift stock controls arms with Bilstein 5100 or 6112 and 265/70/17 could be all he needs. He did not state why he wanted different UCA's. But with the 2.5's he will need new arms just to fit the 2.5's.

UCA is needed for alignment and shock length reasons, not for physical fitment. They are needed, not wanted.

@01 dhrracer , it doesn't matter. It's where the OP has or wants to spend his money. Let's keep this on track and not question his motives or intended use.

I was totally going to do the Bilstein's but got offered the lightly used Fox's for a great price. I did not know I'd need the UCA's. I'm in this deep already by purchasing the Fox's. Even after purchasing the UCA's I'll be about what I'd spend for the 6112's, maybe slightly more. In hindsight I probably would have went with the 6112's. Sell them you say...the person I bought then had them for sale for quite some time, hence the great price. I'm mostly going for stance/looks without smoking my mpg's too much. My off-roading mostly consists of backroads/fishing/hunting. And $ isn't an issue.

I very well might choose the lightly used Fox as well. You'll be happy with the current ones.

Go with the BDS then. They are as pricey as the Total Chaos (which seems to be the gold standard on TW), but offers rubber bushings and an OE style greaseable ball joint. You'll get all the performance you can need while maintaining factory like ride quality and not introduce squeaks. The poly bushings on many aftermarket control arms will squeak without grease. The steel uniballs on several need constant dry lube to keep from squeaking. Would be a shame to fork out a ton of cash and regret the purchase. BDS is in the same "family" as they are owned by Fox, so I'm confident that you'll get a good quality UCA.

I haven't had mine for long, so I cannot comment on longevity. However, they also have a "no fine print lifetime warranty" and I haven't had any issues in the few months that I've had them installed. My alignment numbers are where they need to be, but I'm also closer to 2.5" up front.

https://bds-suspension.com/product-display?sr=toyota UCA <-- looks like prices are continuing to go up. That site showed them about $120 less just a few months ago. 128252 is the PN for our trucks (05-20)

https://www.stage3motorsports.com/128252-05-22-tacoma-bds-tubular-ball-joint-front-ucas.html has them listed at $770 and a popup for $15 off your first order when you create an account. I have no affiliation with any websites, just linking the one with the lowest "in stock" price on a quick google search. (i.e. this is not a recommendation to use that site).

I have had Light Racing (SPC) on my 2nd gen and JBA on my 3rd. I had considered SPC for my 3G but they had gotten much more expensive and the JBA design made more sense to me, and they are made in PA. JBA customer service was also very responsive to my questions. I would go JBA again in a heartbeat. I like that I can throw a GM truck ball joint in there just to get home.

Like OP, I also did not lift very much. About 1" in the front and 3/4" in the back. I got UCA's and hammer hangers to maximize movement and obtain better alignment.

I do think if you’re going with fox suspension now then bds makes sense. Especially with the lifetime warranty.

however with all that has been said I don’t think there’s really a bad option. I do agree that it’s all about the numbers you can get from each one on alignment.

Look at Camburg or DirtKing. Bilstein are built by DK and actually sometimes cheaper.
