Hello, I just bought an '08 PreRunner SR5 that is in pretty good shape. But was disappointed to recently discover water (a lot!) in the passenger side headlight assembly.

Any recommendations on good quality aftermarket headlight assemblies? Dark-colored assemblies would be good too if anyone has a recommendation.

    Thanks!

Use the Search function or even go to the Lighting sub-forum. The answer you will quickly find is that for headlight assemblies that actually put usable light on the road in front of you, look decent and last the longest, OEM is the only way to fly. If you want something cheap that looks "better" (that's a personal decision), oxidizes quicker and leaks water faster, aftermarket is the only way to fly. $35 from Rockauto. I have them for three years and 50,000 mile still look brand new.
Edit now they are $40 range.

got aftermarket DEPO smoked housing maybe a year ago. Left front just started letting in condensation. I guess that means I need to take it out, wash the outside + let dry, then apply a bead of silicone around it, which I have extra leftover from home. If not, home depot has it.
At least bathroom/sink clear waterproof silicone to apply with a caulk gun.
Not sure if anything else should be used instead, such as butyl type, which is usually what the lens itself adheres to the housing with

Was thinking of trying to throw a dessicant pack inside the housing (silica gel) to dry it but IDK if there's even room...
