You still have to get it out the first time, and putting it back is not much harder than taking it out. Unless you just rip the old headlight out and crack the plastic off...

I bought the cheapest headlights from Rockauto five years ago when the were $35 plus shipping. They still look and work perfectly.

Not hard if you remove the bumper cover which isn't that hard.

I don't think so. There's a plastic arm thing that reaches down lower IIRC. You have to go from underneath and hold your tongue the right way.

was going to say if you have an ARB bumper and your gaps aren't tight you can get a socket into the gap, or up under the bottom and right out.

Yup, i went up from underneath with ratchet, and could put my finger on back of ratchet from the gap at the top.

That is the lowest mount in that pic. it's just WAY deeper in there when coming from under the OEM bumper.

lol, my mom makes fun of me every time i do headlights in her 2011 Subaru legacy. its easier if i close my eyes and remember what is there to reinstall things. if i try and look takes forever. if i close my eyes and just focus it works much better.

I know people hate on them, but I have a set of Spyder headlights. I got them because my headlights were beyond just a quick haze cleaning and I was on a tight budget and didn't want JUST OEM. So far haven't had any issues and they are extremely bright. They've been through 115-degree California heat and -20-degree Minnesota cold, and they haven't cracked, hazed, or even blinked, flashed, etc. I think my set was $400 shipped and they even have a cool halo/angel eye effect (if that's your thing). I also have a friend that has a set with zero issues on a Ram 1500 that he's had for years and hasn't had issues.

I got mine from carparts.com for like $150 for 2nd gen sport complete assemblies with bulbs. Seem good quality and light output is like original.

Just a hint...Talking about NOT putting it back in and never having to deal with it again. It is overkill...

Retrofits are cool and all but man, what a PITA…I bet Iv been through 4-5 ballast and waiting on my 4th “computer” which is on backorder. Luckily I had an extra or I’d be without headlights until it comes in.
