I'm getting ready to weld on a set of sliders on the truck and was planning on a 1/4" gap between the sliders and bottom edge of the rocker.

The sliders I ordered are the 4x Innovation DOM weld on sliders with kick out - round main tube.
Installing them on a 2016 double cab - short bed.

I'd like the sliders to be tucked in as close as possible, but not so much, to where it would defeat the purpose of having them (body damage).

What is everyone's thoughts on the minimum distance between the sliders and body...specifically the bottom lip or edge of the rocker(not sure what the proper term is)?

I would not go any closer than 1/4" from slider to pinch seam of rock panel. Youre going to get flex in them, all sliders flex a little, not from poor design but just the nature of steel.

Might want to ask vendor for their recommendation too.
