    Hey All,

I am pretty new to the realm of truck modifications so I figured I would consult the world of Tacoma's for some guidance.

I currently have a stock 2002 Tacoma 4WD with the off-road TRD package and I am looking to add a little bit of ground clearance and some leveling. The plan I had in mind was to just throw a leveling kit on my truck or maybe a 2.5"/1.5" spacer/spring lift kit, but I would like some advice on brands and other options. I do very light to moderate off-roading (mainly to climbing and camping areas, usually in sand or hard packed dirt), so I don't think I would need a new suspension system.

Any advice or suggestions are welcomed. Thank you for the help.

I was like you. went for a spacer/leveling kit. 2 weeks later ordered all new suspension. like a lot of people will tell you don't go spacer. save your money and just do it right the first time. you'll be happy that way. just keep searching and reading on here and you'll find what you need and want. take your time to decide and don't rush it.

Thanks. Yeah, from the few articles I have read on here that seems to be the consensus. With that said, any recommendations of brands/models would be helpful as well.

for me I went full Old Man Emu all around. pretty darn happy with it. also I believe bilsteins are a great way to go. it all really depends on the amount of money you wanna toss into your truck. research is the key. I've spent about a week doing research and reading thread after thread before I decided.

I ordered Bilstein adjustable 5100's in the front w/ Eibach 3" coils and Camburg UCA's with regular 5100's in the rear and a 1.5" AAL. Here is what the front suspension looks like and here is how my truck sits.
