Recommended Speakers

The tweeter pods I have came from a 2000 4Runner, they were not available for the 1997 Tacoma, you want good tweeters anyway and will need a good setup

 

I used to run the 12" kicker comp rt 12 in my single cab with a kicker 1000.1 mono amp. Sounded great and fit just like your setup here.

 

Yup all the bass you need without any modifications

 

I have a 2004 2wd regular cab and I need to replace the lower door speakers. Crutchfiled indicates that a 6x8 is a direct fit without any sort of adapter, whereas for the round 5-1/4 to 6-1/2" speakers they prescribe an adaper bracket.

Can anyone please confirm that the 6x8 is a direct fit without mod? Thanks.

 

So an update on these LG1 seats 2 weeks of driving time logged on them.
The pros,
The seats fit perfectly in my Reg Cab truck with 3/4" between the seats and console.
The seats fit me perfectly and hug my body in the truck
Going around a corner is a new experience with these seats,
The total frame size of these seats are just a little smaller them the 4Runner seats I had
The seats foam is very firm, not a soft foam like the 4Runner seats
The seats sit an inch lower than the 4 runner seats
The seat give you about an inch or probably 2" more leg room
The seats have a low bolster on the lower part of the seat, so easy to get in and out

The cons
The seats back do not extend up of course for the head rest area so the head rest hits me at the bottom
of the neck
The seats are almost to firm if you have a rough riding truck like I do because of my add a leave springs
for towing that I need. So you feel the bumps just a little more because these are not suspension Seats.
The seats are not suspension for a softer ride

Overall I'm very happy with them and love being held into the seats and not siding all over the place now.

 

Maybe they'll break in a lil after with some usage
