Recon bed light kit

i have ordered the Recon bed light kit and plan on using the cargo light circuit to power! Has anyone done this yet?

According to the spec its 4 pods each with 6 1watt LEDs. So 24w at 12v is 2amps. There is easily enough headroom on the bedlight circuit to handle 2w. So on paper, this is fine, and it's how I'd wire it. But I'd also check it is actually pulling 2w. Cheap LEDs like these are notorious for bad specs.

The amp draw is .57 per strand 1.14 total amp draw

 

Yes. Not recon but cheap led strips. Works great do it! Relay is left side of drivers foot well. Middle of three nested back there. Nice thing is you can turn em on using unlock button on key fob.
