I see the front drivers side recovery point but without installing a hitch in the back (just another thing to drag) I don't see a good place to hang a shackle. Has anyone fabbed up a mounting point to one of the predrilled holes in the frame?

I don't want to be "that guy" on the trail who loses a bumper getting pulled out.

    Oh, it's a 2012 RC Base.

Well there is a hitch attachment you can buy..instead of a ball it has a hole for a shackle.

Just install a class 4 receiver. Let the receiver to the dragging instead of the bumper.

i understand your concern as i have dragged my hitch and have had my bumper take a hit or 2. on my 92 truck i ran no hitch or bumper for that reason. i always carry 3/4" truck rope. on the 92 there were 1" or so holes at the back of the frame which i could tie to for recovery. get some good rope and it opens up recovery points that a strap cant attatch to.

know how to tie a boland? if not google it, learn it, and it will save you a ton of frustration when you go to untie

and btw nylon truck rope is kinda crappy for recovery. the best rope i know of is what commercial/high voltage electricians use to pull big-guage wire through long conduit runs. very plyable, great knot-holding, and fantastic abrasion resistance. you can't cut the stuff with a knife, when i was working fab we would "steal" it from our electricians for heavy lifts where strap was not usable. best way to cut it was with the band-saw. seriously.
