Oh-if you have the 2020 off road, you should have that recovery point on the passenger side.

Thanks. I will look. I can see where in Oregon if you go off road, it might be a matter of life or death. Here in NY / Northern Quebec you go off road, you take a swig of cognac and push your way out. :)

I think the ARB recovery point might be overkill. Agree with you that those d-rings look good ... but based on what you are saying I don't need them. I can just get a strap and away I go. Appreciate you taking the time to educate me ...

That type of off roading sounds fun! Really, not much different here. From what I’ve seen there is either fire roads or rocky narrow Jeep trails. A few moderate areas. I can’t imagine ever being in a situation other than hung up on a rock or stump or buried to the frame in snow. As far as I can tell, the off road hook would be plenty adequate. Only used it twice so far, but it barely took any effort to get the rigs out.

Thanks. That is good real world advice. I posted this in another thread but this is what I am looking at it for. This kind of trip.

I’m looking to get me a pair. I’m thinking Tred Pros since I can get them locally. Thoughts?

I was looking at that one. I purchased the Rhino Tow strap since the only thing I’d feel comfortable doing would be pulling someone out of a ditch.

The ARB snatch strap you linked

is that something you’d use for someone stuck in mud where they’d need some momentum to get them out? I don’t see myself trying that anytime soon, but like I mentioned previously, I would like to have recovery gear should I need it or should I encounter someone else who may need help.

Buyer beware! Those "recovery" points only connect to the radiator support frame and not directly to the truck frame. These should only be used for "light" recoveries... if that...

The highlighted note below should tell you all you need to know...

Technically, I believe it's the frontmost crossmember, pn# 5102104022. But all you have to do is poke your head under the front of the truck and it will be immediately evident it's not something you'd want to be snatching on. As noted in the good ol' manual..

Yes! That thing. I questioned my "radiator support" name... but was at a loss of what it was actually called. Regardless, you yank on it too hard, and you're gonna have a bad time. Which is actually the opposite of my standard advice.

It would be easy to mistake it for a radiator support. It's not much beefier..

My brother in law has the rhino and I have the ARB so we’re covered both ways. I’d use the ARB anytime something is stuck. If your wanting to apply tension then the Rhino would have less “stretch”. But in most easy recoveries I personally wouldn’t worry too much which one was being used.
For soft shackles, just make sure you get ones rated for what your doing. There are name brands and Amazon brands and everything in between. I think I bought spartan soft shackles but it’s been a while.

So I hope these aren’t too stupid of questions, I have the hitch mount with the D shackle. Would the soft shackle replace the D shackle or do I attache the soft shackle to it.

Since I have a recovery point on the front of my truck do I need a D shackle for the front of my truck or is that where I would use a soft shackle. Would I attach the soft shackle to the car I’m trying to help?

I really appreciate your help and advice as I do the help and advice of everyone here.

If you have tow hooks under the front bumper...why would you need to add a tow ring of any kind?

I prefer to run a soft shackle through the d-ring in the receiver block like what you got. It’s easier than having to remove the ring and slip the strap loop through.
Up front, the strap usually works. The soft shackle could be helpful when you need a little better angle or a tighter fit to keep the loop from falling off the tow hook.
Your pro should have the recovery hook on the passenger front side.
This is just me personal preference based on a few recoveries and towing dead cars. I’ve never had any real bad situations, nor do I plan on being in one with a 2019 truck. Give me 10 more years. Lol
