Anybody have a starting point for the settings on the ********* Recurve?

Using the stock Entune app radio, ID 64 speakers, JL Audio stealthbox, JL Audio xd500/3 amp

Where does the stock radio start cutting the output frequencies?

    Thanks,

    Rich

For nearly the same price, the JL Cleansweep will flatten out the dynamic and non-adjustable eq curve the stock radios all have..Without having to adjust all the freq bands by ear.

The only Con I can think of off the top of my head is that once you have the stock radio volumn set, it must stay set and you must use a remote knob from then on to adjust the volumn. Not sure what preamp voltage is available from the Cleansweep.

Also, given taco tunes poor rep on this web forum, and a handful of others, I don't think be willing to buy a piece of electronics from them that they designed and hand built built in either their garage or from some Chinese garage electronics factory.

Well... Since I already bought it, and installed it, and see that it's probably an Audio Controls piece with new silkscreen graphics...

Does anybody know how the stock head unit rolls off and and what frequencies?

    But it works great.

Maybe I'll have to break out the oscope, and have a look see ...

Are you SURE? I thought ALL Tacoma head units did that. That has so far been my hold up on starting my audio build. Well, that and the $700+ they want for the JL Stealthbox.

Stealthbox.... ? i never understand why people would spend so much money on a "BOX". You can get a super nice custom build box built to 100% spec with any extra little customized options you want for like $300

Because the speaker itself is $270. Plus I don't have to fight with the local stereo shop to get them to build just a box. (all they want to do is build $10,000 show cars). I don't want to do it myself. The fit and finish of Stealthbox is outstanding. It takes up almost no room. So the speaker was $270 and a custom box is $300, and for $70, I don't have to do anything but order it...

By your logic, why should I buy a $75,000 Corvette, when a Chevy Spark will do the same thing?

    And lastly... Because I can...

And slow, thanks for the graph, looks like a nice hole between 600-1000Hz.

I wasn't knocking ( and I didn't know) that you bought the recurve.

If you have access to an O-scope or better a real time analyzer, you can make the curve as flat as possible the right way.

The graph is a good starting point, what volume level was the radio at? And does the curve change when the volume is adjusted?

definitely a mid suckout, haven't worked on fixing it yet

radio was at 55. didn't try other volumes that day.

still need to get amp and sub installed. i will keep measuring, tuning and posting when possible

i did scope the stock deck when i got the truck, there may be a bit of roll off on the very top end [18kHz +] but the rest was flat. i didn't save any screenshots unfortunately.

i said that in response to" That has so far been my hold up on starting my audio build. Well, that and the $700+ they want for the JL Stealthbox" because imo $700 for a sub and box for a tacoma is not worth it unless like you said "because i can"
