Just search "Tacoma DEPO Tail Lights" on eBay; you'll find all styles for both 98.5-00 and 01-04 1st gen versions; from multiple sellers. Picked up a new (to me) 01 1st gen and I'm swapping to the clear turn/reverse and red. Possibly going to VHT tail light red the turn signal since I have an Impulse Red truck...

    Are these really the ones?

How come yours look more clear and white, or is the lighting messing with me?

it depends on the lights you put inside. the "orange" bulb ones will show orange, but if you get certain LED variants they are more apt to show "white/clear"

Ah, that makes sense. Am I looking for something like this? Trying to keep costs low if you're aware of other brands/options.

I can’t wrap my head around this- why would you want rear-facing white lights? Aside from it being stupendously dangerous, it’s illegal. Explain, please.

Where'd you find these? I'd like a set, if I can find one for a decent price. Thanks for sharing, Brah!

You would use red bulbs for the lower, and amber for the turn signal. so technically not white, just looks clear (mostly) during the day

There is a reflection plate at the bottom of the lamp. For tail lamp it has to be red to be legal, not white.

Marianastaco I got them forsale lenses and also with back housings message me if interested they are dot just some states require a reflector on the rear of the car but most need to just illuminate the correct colors so leds work good red orange and white for reverse but definitely check your state laws

your statement is correct. especially if your state/county/province requires inspection, 100% fail.

however, I have yet to see someone get pulled over for this infraction. hell, most never get pulled over for having those awful HID bulbs in regular housings. I fear most LEO never really care to enforce these as they have other more pressing things to worry about.

That’s what I thought too but check the Lexus and some newer cars stock from factory all that’s needed is red reflectors doesn’t need to be in the taillight and of course leds that illuminate the correct colors
