Hi all, just taking a look under my truck and noticed this red fluid I’m wondering what it is from and if it’s concerning.

Clean everything up and check again after driving for a while. If it’s still coming back go to the dealer.

Might be transmission fluid. Where is the exact location? Can you trace it to the source? Is it viscous?

It’s right where the transmission is near one of the seals not sure how else to describe it

Take that sucker back under warranty. That red fluid (ATF) is supposed to be on the inside only.

Don't stress, but book appointment right away.

4runners were known for this, the seal between tcase and trans would leak. No biggy.

Most definitely take it to the dealership for warranty repair. As long as there are t major puddles where you park you’ll be ok until the appointment

I'd get it fixed, especially under warranty. Would not want too much to leak out and cause premature tranny issues.

My lunchtime beverage says that's trans fluid.

Yep. Not supposed to be anything wet under your truck on a dry day.

Don't bother. Make your appointment tomorrow AM and let the dealer clean it up.

Seeing the OP’s picture shoots holes in car manufacturer’s claim that the transmission is sealed and the level does not need to be checked.

That statement makes no sense. A transmission with or without a dipstick can leak. Tacoma sealed transmissions can also be checked for proper level in not much time with only basic hand tools.
