red light camera

geez $75 bucks is a slap on the wrist. in hawaii the fine is much more and your insurance goes up

 

Where can I buy such a product?What is it called? I don't try to run red lights and I think the cameras are BS but I don't want to chance it. It seems to me that towns are making the timing shorter so you can literally be in the intersection and not make it across in time. Probably a money maker for most towns. If I can beat it I wouldn't mind trying.

In CA at least they have to prove it is YOU driving the vehicle. If they can't positively identify the driver they send what is called a "snitch ticket". It is technically not in their system but they want you to call them and say "hey this isn't me, it is XXX XXX" Then they send a ticket to that person. If the original person ignored the snitch ticket all would have been good in the land of oz as it never technically existed in their system. I have recieved not one, not two, but THREE red light tickets that I did NOT run. They are supposed to review the video, but they don't. Also it has been proven that more accidents happen because of these cameras than without them. More people are slamming on their brakes to avoid running the shortened yellow light and rear ending people. And the people who would've run it before the cameras are still running them, hence the tickets. In reality these cameras are nothing more than an attempt on more revenue, which is failing as one CA city has found out. They had to pay out more last year to the company that runs the cameras than they got from them.

 

Just recieved my red light ticket in the mail today. Has anyone gone to court for this? Im wondering if they can put me on a payment plan or reduce my fine. I know its only $124 dollars but money is tight for me right now.

 

What really sucks is when you are in the intersection, to turn left and the light turns yellow. And you are stuck waiting too turn because 3 jack asses run the light. You end up getting a ticket when the light turns red, even though it was impossible for you too turn.
