Red Rock Canyon State Park: Trail Run Scouting

so we get a pre trail in dec. then regear/rebuild for superstition...

Well, to avoid competing with the Superstition Trail Run, I'm going to lock down the date for this trail run as Sunday, December 18th. Here is the list so far:

I have a couple of friends with FJ's that sound interested, but they haven't confirmed yet.

 

I'd like to be there, but it's a little far of a drive.

Went out there this weekend with the ttora guys. It was a lot of fun!! Stayed in one of the cabins. Here is some pics

I have one friend with an FJ confirmed, waiting to hear back from two other friends with another FJ and a Wrangler.

 

Alright! The second FJ is confirmed. Up to at least 6 total vehicles. Hopefully we get enough modified rigs so some of you can attempt the Last Chance Canyon exit route. I can't take it in my truck without a few more mods (mostly armor).

 

6 makes for a good group. Anyone else?

 

I plan on going (unless something comes up at the last minute).

Oh, and last chance canyon is a must! If I could do it by myself a group will be fine.

 

Great! My truck won't make it down Last Chance Canyon (yet) so I was hoping we'd have a couple of people willing to take that route out.

 

Would this canyon be lockers only?
Skids and sliders I do have.

I just made a detailed map showing the entrance and two exit routes. I will have copies to give to all of those who show up. My truck is not capable of Last Chance Canyon, but I will try to haul ass once we split up from Burrow Schmidts tunnel so I can meet you guys at the bottom of Last Chance and get some pictures of you guys going through the roughest parts.

Lockers are not necessary, but trail armor is a damn good idea.

A couple of my buddies bailed, but I still have one in an FJ coming. Since I can't make it all the way down Last Chance, I will haul ass from the split up point and try to make it around to the south end of the canyon and take pics of you guys coming down through the roughest spots. It's a bit of a drive, so I may need to ask you all to take your sweet time on the exit route.
