That looks like more work then the bmw seats.

Most BMW E series seats just need to apply power to them to get the power functions to work.

mine's an OEM 3rd gen tacoma seat, had a little bit of moisture when i got it from a scrap yard thanks to Mavrick. but stripped it down, sprayed bleach on it to kill the mold and just washing the covers. I'd get new covers but Toyota wants something stupid like $700 for it....

Easier since the bolt holes are the same, more difficult as i have an old manual seat and i dont have the harness.
so much like you, i need to bring in a power line from the battery for it all to work. my head scratcher is figuring out the 4-5 cables for the heated seat

I grabbed some of the control modules out of the doner car my plan is to get the original BMW canbus up ad running then i can just reuse the factory heated and vented buttons.

These seats are out of a bmw E60 its a little more complicated then retrofitting other seats, but these were free.

    Starter rebuild complete.
Solenoid plunger and contacts were very worn out. Very easy rebuild. Very easy to remove/replace took about 20 minutes.
I didn't replace any of the bearings, I didn't have time to order them, and couldn't find any easy local replacements.

Used this generic rebuild kit. a few parts were not a match and i reused the original.

    IMG_3084.jpg

There was 2 part numbers online for the pre and post facelift starters. The only difference was the 12V motor. The gear reduction was the same. I decided to reinstall my original one because the motor was bigger, possibly more powerful. I will rebuild the face lift starter as a backup.

Up next gotta make a Adapter so I can fit a Optima red top 34R battery with the factory hardware. Its smaller but was on sale.

V1 - Tray that would go under the battery to raise it up. This didn't work because the terminals were actually slightly too far to reach. The optima terminal isnt in the same position.
    IMG_3069.jpg

V2 - Will just be a little block that sits on top the battery.
    Screenshot at Dec 19 17-28-12.png
    IMG_3089.jpg

V3 will have a pass through for a ground wire. V4 will be printed with ASA or something that can take the engine bay heat.

Revised battery adapter works good enough. I guess we will see if it melts.
Need to make some new power/ground wires for my fuse box they were about an inch short.

Got a free BBK today. 13WH from a lexus GX470 probably need to be rebuilt. Came with decent condition rotors too.

just read your whole thread, nice truck. fellow northeasterner, citizen soon ;)

nice job sending it offroading, thru the river and whatnot
and nice electric work and mods

i sprayed down my MAF from disconnect throttle body area recently, wish i just removed it to do a better job, or replace it. i replaced on my old 2004 4runner, should have this time, but i noticed a bit better running after. i was getting a little choking or stutter right after taking off in 1st

you seem like the type to fix problems before just rushing to replace which is cool

Ran some power from the cab to the bed. 120v connected to the 1000w inverter behind the back seat, and some 12v connectors.

I'm finding out quickly that primer matters alot. Years ago I painted chrome rims and used etching primer and the paint held up perfect. If your going to paint the diff consider a good primer.
