I was wondering what you guys thought about having a red tacoma with a black shell. I am about to buy are tacoma and red isn't my favorite tacoma color but the deal is too hard to pass up. So I am loooking for ways to break up the red and a black shell sounded like it would work.

Found this image of that set up, but that isn't the type of shell I would get so I can't decide if I would like it or not.

    Any thoughts?

I think it looks fine! Nice contrast between the black and red. Maybe get some black armor in the rear down the road.

Yeah that was my thought too, along with some black fender flares.

Sorry I don't agree. Looks like an after thought or a cheap deal found.
Maybe because I see this often at the shop and they don't even fit the truck sometimes .

I would never intentionally put a mismatched shell on a truck. I would do it, if I got a smokin deal on a used one, but only till I had the $ to get a paint job. It just screams "I got a great used price".

Nothing wrong with that combo! I just got a smoking deal on a white snugtop, on an MGM truck. I may just leave it that way...who cares if people figure that I got a good deal on it?

So much yes in that pic! Here's a pic of my old taco to give you an example on ways you can break up the red. Black accents look nice with the Barcelona red. Only pic I could find of the rear.

Just a few expensive & DIY things...
I have Inferno Orange and a black cap.

Looks fine to me and everyone else seems to think so.
If it functions and does what you want then you're good, you can always paint it
