Thinking about buying a Redarc. I’ve been happy with the performance of my Tekonsha P3, but tired of hitting my knee on it. Has anyone installed the knob in one of the dash center bezel blanks? Any videos of how it comes apart out there?

No video but I followed what other posted here.
Center a/c vent area pulls off easily
Loosen 4 bolts around info screen
Drivers door sill plate pulls up
Left side kick plate - 1 plastic bolt, pull back and left
Pull loose left a/c vent area
Three screws under driver knee plate, pull loose, it doesn’t need to come off
Now pull center a/c unit surround straight out
Reach in and pop out whichever switch plate you want to use

I mounted the brain box under the dash on the two threaded studs like described here earlier
Plenty of wire to reach. Took about an hour, maybe a little more
I’m very pleased with the results

Redarc Liberty install complete. Came out great thanks to everyone’s install posts!

I built a bracket and mounted to the two unused studs. Had to go with less bend on the bracket so the spring on the clutch wouldn’t hit.

I’ll get to try it out next week when I bring the camper home from winter storage. Hopefully it works with no issues.

Mounted the knob on the center dash bezel. I followed your post and it went great. Thanks!

Removed the REDARC Tow Pro Elite from my 2018 Tacoma (sold) and installed into my old 2003 4Runner. Have the 2 switch/REDARC panel and brake controller harness left over if anyone needs it. Shoot me a PM.

Installed the Liberty unit yesterday. Made it harder for myself with my install location but overall a breeze.

Thanks for the write up, I used this to install mine today. Redarc now also sells the plug adapter so it was just plug & play. I was surprised how smooth the panel from shapeways was for a 3D print.
