    Hello All,

quick question: I installed a REDARC trailer brake controller, but I don’t currently have a trailer. When I press the controller knob, it illuminates briefly, then goes dark. Is this because it senses that there’s no trailer? Or did I mess up the wiring? Any guidance appreciated.

    Thank you.

I installed it on my 21’ without a trailer and I was getting the same thing. It will calibrate as you drive, even without a trailer. The install was pretty straightforward, plug and play. As long as it’s secured well, it should be fine. The first time I hauled a trailer it worked as it should.

@TroyFJ totally normal and you’ve wired it correctly. Your brake lights should also illuminate as well when you push the knob.
