take a couple mins, and cut the factory tape from behind the junction block in drivers kick . little bit of work fishing the connector through , but you can get about 10-12" of slack on the factory brake controller connector to hardwire ( as i did ) or to make mounting your controller a little easier .
    BLUE : 12v Constant
BLACK : Brake feed FROM controller to trailer
    WHITE/BLACK : Ground
VIOLET : Brake feed from truck TO controller
    GREEN : dash lights ( Illumination )

Any reason you cut the connector off instead of just using the Redarc adapter Pigtail?

because im a career installer and didnt want to waste the $ on an adaptor . that and i believe a permanent install should be just that . its " cleaner " also without the connector in the way , see how the wire just flows , it looks factory . other than that , no there is no reason . if i had to give any other it would be connectors introduce a little bit of resistance when compared to a wire to wire connection .

Gotcha. Obviously it works, I just hate cutting factory wiring whenever possible.
