    Hey guys,

A few months ago I installed a RedArc tow pro elite, used the RedArc adapter, and it seems I have to reset ea time I plug the trailer in. Unplug the 4 pin from the Redarc it’s self, and it’ll work

Anyone have some install experience with these?

    2018 Tacoma tow pro elite.

I’d be interested in the result as well. I installed a Liberty tow pro and so far no issues, but it would be good information.

Absolutely! Easier to try and get all the information at once and i'll report back with what it was, and how to correct it if needed ;)

Based on how they answered my questions during install I am sure they will help you!

What have you tried? I have something similar on our 2021 but haven’t towed recently so have forgotten about it.

To be fair I have contacted Redarc and they seem very responsive, this issue is still lingering because I've let it get to the bottom of my todo list.

TowPro elite installed using the Toyota harness, ground connection attached to the ground point in the drivers side kick panel. Symptoms are when the trailer (2021 Casita so everything on its end should be good...) is connected we get the occasional green blink which seems power related:
    • Loss of supply power or circuit breaker cycling
    • Hesitation during connection of BLACK wire possibly causing incomplete startup sequence
    • Low continuous voltage on brake light (RED) wire
The BLACK wire is the connection back to vehicle power.

When we picked up the Casita they couldn't get the trailer brakes to work with their external tester, I haven't tested this with any other trailer.

When this happens all I have to do is pull the fuse for the trailer brake controller (way easier than unplugging the connector at the back of the TowPro) and let it relearn and we are good to go. It is kind of annoying as those first few miles the braking is not smooth as it hasn't calibrated.

I've tried to figure out rhyme or reason, we did a 2 week trip in northern NM and it behaved itself the majority of the time. I've tried hooking up with the truck running or not and have had the bad situation occur both ways.

Just wanted to update the thread. I spent some time checking the wiring and truck side connections to eliminate any install issues but it all seemed fine. Last thing I wanted was to get a new main unit and have the same problem. Gave the Redarc guys a call and had a great call with them that resulted in a new main unit shipped out to me that appears to have resolved all of our issues.
