Can confirm there is zero waterproofing on this winch. Took the solenoid box apart and siliconed the shit out of it.

@dirty deeds the box isn’t movable on the winch, but is removable.

Thank you sir. And noted about the silicone. Did you use spray or run a bead on the box?

I coated grease on every seam of my m8000, it has worked well. Just splooge that shit all over and spread it around with your finger.

With the all poo bumper you are going to have to clock the section with the lever so its vertical, or hack up yer grill.

That moment when you spent a bunch of time trying to make your grill look good, but then your clutch lever won’t turn and you can’t reach the plug for the remote. :p

Well, technically I can turn the lever if I force the grill up and out of the way. Annnnd I can plug in the remote if I really get my arm contorted up through the bumper.

So I guess I can either have a pretty grill and deal with the aggravation on the trail or cut a big ass hole on the driver side of the grill for easy access.

Going to town for beer. Will let the beer decide later.

Also, grill is now held on 100% with zip ties. Figured that was noteworthy. Haha

You could put the plug in and cut the wire at a easy length to then make another plug and plug in.

Cervezas made me muy lazy. Grill stays in tact for now. Watching the sun melt into the river instead.

That’s a good idea. At that point, might as well go ahead and run it in the cab.

That's what I basically did. Just opened up the controller and rewired it to an in cab switch. It would be nice to be able to control from outside the cab though at times.

    Precisely what I was thinking.
Beer KNEW you needed a V8.
I can, but my utter hatred for wiring made cutting the grill seem like a better option. Haha. Plus, I been have a big hole in my grill now. :p

Wait can you not clock the whole clutch assembly? On the warns you can loosen up the Allen head bolts, pull off the end with the clutch and rotate it. Let me find a pic....

Join the club lol! They hold pretty good, even with a winch controller box hanging off the backside.

Pic from when I was building my "bumper" to show what I'm talking about, zoom in on the lever and you will see the Allen head bolts I'm talking about.
