I will. I have a long bed sport, and I really want an off road model for obvious reasons. So I will wait it out and get the new one. If it wasnt so close I would have already made the change.

Didn't read every post....but has anyone noticed the bumper lines in the chops. It looks like it would be very difficult to get an aftermarket bumper to match those lines. I love the look but lets pray Toyota won't screw us like that.

Nooo! Sorry man, I just need atrac and a locker. I cant justify buying sweet as armor for a truck that has neither.

i am keeping my 2nd gen. 2 years old 36K miles and man i love driving it. All i ask for in the next gen is, make it as easy for us to add aftermarket parts. do not turn it into a dodge Dakota... Ugly and not real friendly to the aftermarket crowd.

^ actually the new 4runner center console only has 2 cup holders, the manual transfer case takes up the extra room. At first you may say "no big deal I only need one cup holder" but when I'm driving it I'm always looking for the third that isnt there. Not just for cups, but for anything, phone, change, wallet, ear necklace....

I'd rather have cubbies than cup holders. My tahoe had something like 12. 6 in the front seat alone. Crazy.
"would you like a drink carrier" No thanks babe, I've got it covered.

I don't see where they're taking the Tacoma... adding a V8 makes it sound like they're going to make it bigger...

My 2010 is literally the same size as my father's 2000 Tundra, minus a couple inches in length. The new Tundras are massive.... are they going to make the Tacos into current Tundras and Tundras into buses? What's the point :/

If the Taco was to receive anything more than a mild refresh, I would be in San Antonio and Mexico installing and confirming the bodyweld equipment, along with dozens of my coworkers. Guess what? No one is there!

Damn it!! I'm ALWAYS the last to find these things out! :D

@ mgrande, Mexico builds DC Tacos only. TX builds all models of the Taco and Tundra.

Minor update could mean stuff like the grille, interior, or even mild sheet metal changes (such as hood, front fenders, headlights). Nothing that requires major equipment mods. As I mentioned in another thread, Toyota just got done spending $$$$$$$$$$$ on closing NUMMI and moving the equipment to TX, which just got on-line with building the Taco. They probably want some financial and production breathing room before hitting TX with the big Taco update.

Hahah yeah. i say they make the 3rd Gen more 1st gen like. Make it smaller and rugged like the 1st gen, but with a bigger, 2nd gen-like powertrain.

I bugged toyota trucks texas again and this is what they said

" Just a redesign, not a new generation. Sorry!"
