Redline Tuning 2016+ Tacoma Hood QuickLIFT system released!

I just installed my kit last night on my 2016 TRD Sport (hood has scoop). Went in easy and fast - about 1 1/2 hours and I was done! The kit lifts that heavy, heavy hood beautifully. This is my second kit from Redline Tuning; I put their hood strut kit on my 2008 Tacoma - and it worked perfectly for over 8 years! Highly recommended.

 

Installed mine this past weekend, no problems and a good fit

Maybe a noob questions but it safe to use the rivets provided on a fiberglass hood?

Edit; i know fiberglass is lighter than the stock hood, I would rather have struts instead of the hood prop, are these struts safe or is it better to use struts with less pressure?

 

Yes - it is safe - you will want to ONLY use the rivets we supply for this. These are special multi-grip rivets that are designed to bind our brackets to any material (Aluminum, steel, fiberglass, carbon, etc) as they flare out in three spots for excellent binding.

If however, your hood is much lighter than the stock hood, you may want to contact us about lower force springs. If your new hood has a solid hood frame (the area where the bracket attaches) and this frame is also shaped the same as stock, there will no issues at all. It is generally only poorly built carbon hoods with paper thin structure that ever have any issues as there just isn't anything strong enough to attach to...

The link works fine for me. I have to get new QuickLIFTs as I traded my 2014 Tacoma with the elite lifts installed on it and they were fantastic. I loved them. They should have these installed from the factory!!! Now I have to install new ones on my 2016 Tacoma. Any deals for a TW members or a group buy in the near future?

Just added the 2016 to list for free shipping... it applies from time of post forward. However, if you want product fairly quickly, choose and pay for FedEx home delivery on our site - many times faster if outside Michigan. Thx

Whats the difference internally between the elite and plus springs?
They are the same part number on your web site which makes no sense

 

Only difference is the stainless finish on the elites. Same shock internally.

 

Just ordered a set for my truck. I can't wait to get these installed!
