Installed mine this afternoon. Quality appears to be very good. Wish I would have added them sooner.

Still have to finish mine up. Maybe today.
I know the instructions said to cycle the struts a time or two but its not real important.
I can't for the life of me to get one to compress. I must be getting old. :(

Cycling the gas springs is NOT required... we have been slowing removing this step from all of our manuals.

Basically, the gas springs are dry - they will operate at a higher force when sitting for a long time as the seal and shaft are dry. Once they are compressed, the gas springs will operate at the correct force. Compressing them before installing them isn't always easy. So, we now recommend to install the gas springs and let the weight of the hood help the first few cycles... this will give the same result.

    Thank you,
    Brian

BTW - A lot of nice looking Tacomas! We never knew the market for this vehicle was so large until we released this product. There are a lot of die-hard owners out there.

When does this expire? Are the Elite's being discontinued for a new model?

I washed the engine then realized I for got to do the hood and decided I dont want to spray it after then the mud would just go back on the engine I just cleaned. The good news is it will be getting muddy again soon. so it will be washed again, hood and all...

Just submitted my order. This mod has been needed for a long time. I wish Toyota would have added hood struts in the factory for our Tacos, my buddy has factory struts in his 4Runner. gah. Thanks Redline!!!

I just want to give a big shout out to these guys on product and customer service. I ordered a set of these from this thread and when I got them they looked like the FedEx guy had boot stomped the crap out of them. So I called Redline, sent them some pictures and they sent me a brand new set and these were good to go when I got them. So thanks for all the help.
