View of the bedrail set up the bolt and nut in the picture is where the bar is hooked together. I've changed out all those bolts and nut with stainless Allen bolts going in from the bottom with a t-handle nut on top for quicker and easier removal.

Is that a brake disc you are using as the clamping plate?

I do alot of fishing and camping and have had to change a tire in some very nasty weather. It really sucks if you can't get to your spare or it's stuck or pouring out. I've had trucks in the past that I had to cut the cable to get the spare down. The carrier flips up if i need to put lumber or plywood under it, as for big things I have a trailer for those.

Totally agree on the convenience, With my tonneau i had the spare back there in the winter so it would be way easier to change a flat god forbid I got one. But you cant move this around, stand it up in the corner or on top of something else just to get it out of the way.

No questions it looks cool just wondering why is all.

Last time I had a flat tire was -28C (-18F) out and of course it was in its stock location under the truck.

I like how it turned out OP.
