Any updates on the frame? They swapped mine out in 4.5 days.

Sorry to BS in your build Chris! :sorry:

Hell I don't mind it needs some bs, always have to search for it when I do updates.

To add to the bs I'm debating on buying a high pinion Dana 44 already set up for links with 5.13s and a broken Detroit from breaking a chromo stub. Mainly depends on if I can get it cheap enough. It's gonna be at least next summer till the sas can get started unless I hit gold for a job after this semester is over. Even then with a baby due in August and wedding in October that is very unlikely.

Just called Monday, they are still waiting to get in a frame for me and one other part. No ETA on when though.

Even if you can't do it soon, slowly gathering parts will at least make you feel like it will happen eventually. I say do it.

Yeah that's my thought, he's gonna have to come off the price some though. Asking 600 for the axle, high steer arms and tie rod, chromo shafts(one broken stub though), spare stock shafts, Detroit(broken side gear, fixable though) and the 5.13s in it. It's really not a bad deal but I really don't want a Detroit up front, or anywhere for that matter. Rather have selectable or open.

Too bad you don't need a reg cab frame, Dylan has one.

Bummer man. I told my dealership I was driving my truck until the frame came in. I'll be damned if my truck sat for months

Yeah the whole truck sitting didn't cross my mind at the time. I figured the sooner I gave it up the more I would save miles on my tires that were on their way out, and the more time I would have to strip, prep and re-paint all my armor. The plan is once these tires are shot it's going to be time to tub and go to thirty fives and hopefully while it's there I have time to save money for both the tires and gears.

Don't forget about Carolina Axle and gear, Jody Treadway runs the place. If you're closer to the mtns it will be closer than ECGS.

Looks like the gears are going to get installed next week or week after. I don't have the time nor the experience/confidence to do them in before Windrock and trust them.

Spent half my day yesterday cleaning the shop and pulling the diffs out of the truck. The front was the definition of pain in the ass. Ended up pulling the pinion flange to get it past the bellhousing. Rear did was easy with the exception of the driver side brake line decided it wanted to twist with the fitting. Will more than likely replace that section.

Can also see my "custom" brake line plugs. Should bake bleeding the brakes a lot easier rather than leaving it open all week.

Today was cleaning the front diff as I didn't get it may as clean as I thought at the car wash.

Along with that I changed the fuel filter, have had a new one for well over a year now. Was a bit over due considering all the crap that came out of it.

Also went ahead and pulled the rear shocks, gotta love the leaky bilsteins. Will either go with the jk shocks I have or something else new.

Both diffs, gears, and install kits loaded in the dd for the week lol. Guess a prius is useful for somethings.

Oh well I guess I never updated this after getting the diffs back in on Sunday. Went fairly smooth, had a couple buddy's come over and help. I remembered that Toyota put the fill plug in an awesome spot for the front diff, ended up using a couple feet of hose on the end of the bottle to fill it. Got the LROR elocker skid on as well. Also put some OME 882 coils and struts on and keep my top plate spacer. Hindsight I really didn't need the top plate spacer but oh well truck sits about level now. Here's nose to nose with Dylan's on Eibachs and Bilstien's.

Rides a bit nicer, got the truck aligned on Tuesday and it really didn't need to be touched much. Not really much adjustment with this much lift. So far I'm happy with the gears, hell of an improvement daily driving.

On a side note I ordered a new radio today because the sock one just died and a Bearcat 880 cb. Going to mount it below the new radio. Finally got tired of the little Cobra 19. Hopefully that install goes smooth tomorrow. Also going to look at a potential DD/tow rig tomorrow.

What gearing did you go with again? Mileage improve at all?

4.88s, I'm hoping I don't kick myself for not going 5.29s but I don't think I will. To early to tell with mileage, I think it went up a little bit. Only have one tank on then do far and that was 15.5 mpg. I had been ranging from 13-15mpg.

That's where I'm at with 265's so I'd be happy with that when I go to 35's and regear. Do you plan on doing a crawl box eventually?
