I used a different turbo, I used custom IC piping and in the end I used their IC but mounted it differently.

Basically I only used the manifolds and downpipe pieces and IC

Kewl, I'm going to be going with a body kit front bumper so definitely need to do some intercooler work to get it to sit where I want. What size did you use?

I don't know in particular to be honest how big it is, but it's the intercooler from their kit, mounted in a different position. (I think 98-00 have different space behind the bumper)

Alright, I'll have to figure that out when the time comes. Just curious about the size because there's no need to go too big, just don't want boost lag because of too big of IC piping

Well, been looking at porting and polishing, and it seems it'll be worth it with forced induction. I sat through 10 hours of claying and polishing my Celica so as it seems I enjoy tedious work  I think I this will be worth while but so... so tedious lol.
I'll do throttle body, intake and heads. I'm guessing at least 30 hours of work for it.

I think some of that stuff is fun too and it definitely won't hurt anything. You should look up a channel called jafromobile. He polishes a head from some dsm to a mirror finish.

I'll take a look at it, I think it would be very beneficial considering trying to see the limits of this motor, might as well do everything I can

So, just realized I'm gonna need two sets of cams for each side for the v6, shouldn't be a problem though as they seem to have quite a few cars with the 3vz
EDIT: Btw I'm just dumb, 3vz is dual overhead so only cams from one motor lol

Well I got everything out, should be ready to pull now. I'm sure there's some straggling bits but I'll find as I'm pulling it out.

You know when you get so frustrated you just want to say f*ck it and break everything, that's what you'll look forward to when trying to pull the harness out :D

Only cx kit worth it is the header kit with the crossover pipe.

That's what I was figuring, maybe also the upper intercooler piping where it goes around the intake

I recomend making your own. CXs kit comes with a lot of extras. Unless you want to run their IC kit as they have it designed, you'll just be throwing away a bunch of shit. And dont even bother with the waste gate...

Right, I know the wg, bov and turbo aren't good. And I know the intercooler hangs low, however with the body kit front bumper that might be where I want it to hang. I'll have to do some more looking to see

Had @sd619 reach out to me with a manifold and ecu and wiring harness. It's a 5vz manual 4x4 harness so I won't have to worry about messing with the wiring with the auto ecu so thanks for that, it'll make the swap go all that much smoother.
And if I ever want to make it awd I can :D

Was unsuccessful with the crank, didn't have 12 point sockets for the connecting rod nuts. Gonna go back and try again when I get them. Got a lot of waves from Tacomas, don't know if it was any of you guys

Good stuff! If you happen to find another set of cams...maybe let me know :D they seem hard to come by out here.
