I wish there were more options. The toyos are very expensive but the width worked with my 7" sema wheels better than 35s would have. So far I kind of wish I'd gone 35s and new wheels but I just could come up with the cash.

Is it possible to take any pics to show how you mounted the light bar behind the grill? A 2nd mounted in the higher spot would be pretty sweet...

I can grab some pics when I get back home Sunday. It's very solid and the 2 holes I drilled are hidden unless someone has the grille out should I ever remove it (less noticeable than the cut fenders, snorkel hole, and trail rash anyway lol)

I might consider a 2nd bar mounted that way! Any pics looking at the grill with it off?

Sweet winch mount too. Did you consider the one from Southern Style Offroad when you were looking?

Good progress so far this weekend:

    Oil change
Trans fluid change with redline mt-90 again (it's only been 30k miles but it was black as night )
    Fresh spark plugs
    Hurst/core shifter installed
And pulled the front, trans, and mid skids to pound them back into shape :l

I wanted to post a pic of the rear most driver's side plug access with the s/c installed. Anyone who removes the s/c to do this is nuts.

    image.jpg

And here is the worst of the plugs lol

Got the rack mounted to my rusty kbvoodoo side rails finally. I'm still working on the mounts for the dome awning, spare tire hanger, and led mounts but it feels good to make progress. Im thinking I'll go as far as powdercoating when I finalize this one. I leave for Colorado April 28th for 3 months so the pressure is on. On a side note I got a screaming ebay deal on a set of dakars and I placed a @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc order for a ubolt flip, super bumps, b110s, and brake lines. Hoping to get everything installed in the next few weeks.

    Pics of the rack:

Have you had a chance to snap a pic of the lightbar mount? I have a 20" that I'm looking to mount in the same place.

SDHQ makes some sick mounts but they’re designed for bars that cost way more than I’m willing to spend..

Yeah. Those are a bit rich for me...just their mount is 4x what I spent on the 20" lightbar.

Sorry for the delay guys. I was doing some wiring tonight and decide to pull the grille to snap some pics. See below:

It's silly how well it worked out for this particular bar. Honestly to mount a shorter bar you could just run a piece of aluminum angle across mounted to the same places and use that as your base. Let me know if that makes sense.

I actually messaged them here for inside to inside dimensions and you really are stuck running the bars they are designed for. My totron bar is a bit wide I guess.

I got a screaming deal on the us off-road (like $250 used) but really I like the sso model as well. For the price they want I'd be hard pressed not to just get a full front bumper.

    Update:

We are 10 days away from relocating to the Denver area for the next 3 months!!!! My wife and I are freaking stoked. Unfortunately I waited way too long to get my shit together so it's a mad dash to finish what I can before we go. Last weekend I was able to get the new rear suspension on... Dakars, b110s, and ubolt flip with super bumps. I have extended brake lines to install but not sure if I'll get them finished by next weekend. I also got my rack back from the sand blaster and got the first round of bed liner on it. I pick up my kbvoodoo rails today from the powder coater since the original coating lasted halfway through the shipment to my house :(

    Goals for this week are:

    Install bed rail caps Done
    Install bed rack Done
    Install RTT Done
    Install Awning Done
Finish running wire to the passenger rear cubby
Make wiring harnesses for the rack lights

And by next Friday I need:

    Maybe diff fluid
    Reinstall Skid Plates
    Replace catback exhaust donut
Install a new wideband o2 sensor
Wire the boost and afr gauges
    Alignment
    Rotate Tires
    Cab Mount Plates
    Detail the outside and interior
Possibly make an interior storage platform? Im out of time I think.
Pack all of our camping gear.

I'll update with pictures as I get some of this shit done haha. In addition to truck things we have been trying to get our house ready to sit idle. Things like mow our front 5 acres really freaking short, cut down a few suspect trees, spray for bugs, install some new motion lights etc etc. I'd probably go nuts if I didn't have toyota stuff in my life to distract me.

    Truck prep update:

Got my side and rear facing leds wired up and finally had a chance to get the tonneau cover installed. Also got my setup lighting functional and my cab mount chops welded up. Pretty stoked with how all this is turning out.

    BIG UPDATE!!!!!

Well after an amazing summer in Colorado my wife and I have decided to relocate to the Denver area for good. We had kind of talked about doing it in the summer of 19' but my wife got an amazing job offer to stay in the Boulder area so we are doing it. We listed our house a few weeks ago and it was under contract the first day (what a relief!). We got a place in Arvada to rent maintenance free for a few years to see how we like it. Before our close date I've been hammering out some new goodies in the garage. This weekend I was able to get my @ECGS thirds in (4.56s and a rear arb) as well as some brake maintenance. `In the next few weeks I'm hoping to get my stage 3 urd clutch in as well as possibly my cam tab gussets. Over the summer my doug thorley y pipe rusted through all to hell so I still need to clearance my skid to reinstall. We shared most of our excitement of the summer on instagram @Bigredrover and @Go.For.Broke_Overland.

    Summer Destinations:

Then to finish things off we took a crazy road trip to Monterrey, CA.

We bombed out stopping through the salt flats and some sketchy back roads in NV (route 93, route 6, route 95) into Yosimite! Unfortunately with our timing we got smoked out with all the fires so we made a b line for Big Sur and drove the coast till we found one of the most epic camp spots to date. Then in Monterrey we got to relax (got a hotel for a few days), whale watching, seafood, light houses, all that good stuff. then on the way out we went north to san fran to see the golden gate and to see our friends at Tepui. One last stop at Lake Tahoe for a night and we were homeward bound. It was a great treat for the end of our summer (until we decided to move which was the icing on top)

I'll have to post some pics shortly.

    UPDATE:

New URD stage 3 clutch is in with the factory flywheel and holy cow it's awesome. I had the URD heavy flywheel and stage 2 previously and has started to get some strange noises, bucking, and shuttering but had put 40k miles on this setup and wanted to take a look. Sure enough, the clutch was nearly down to the rivets, glazed over, and the flywheel was covered in bad heat spots. Also one of the clutch disc springs had come loose and was not far off from dropping behind the preassure plate and reaking havoc. I would say the 34's and stock gears while wheeling at altitude had really taken it's toll along with my heavy foot and supercharger of course. The URD flywheel is 42 lbs and the resurfaced stocker I put in was 29lbs. So far I have about 400 miles on it and it feels great. I'll update with some more miles and wheeling time but right now @Gadget@URD gets a big thumbs up from me.

Looks like you had an awesome summer. Get those pics posted!

Oh and where did you pick up your 1/2" and 1/4" spacers? Did you need extended bolts for the .5er?
