To make it easier to work around fuses on my 2000 Tacoma I fashioned a 1 page reference sheet that I now keep handy, and the PDF (digital file) now sits in my smart phone.

I figured maybe others could use it. I have attached the PDF.

You should try and find a copy of the 2000Tacoma Electrical Wiring Diagrams

    It makes things much easier.

Do you mean easier instead of having the fuse locations and functions? Or, in addition to that?

If I have an accessory (e.g radio, cigarette lighter) or system (e.g. headlights, horn, door locks) that is not working, among the first things I would check would be for a blown, loose, or missing fuse. For lights, I would also check the bulbs (filament, contacts, base seating, connections, etc.)

If replacement fuses continue to blow, and if the fuse serves multiple components I would selectively remove and replace each component from that circuit, in an attempt to narrow the component (and associated wiring, connectors, harness, relay) that is causing the fault.

Recently I lost power to cigarette lighters (3), lighting in the passenger airbag switch, and lighting in the clock display. Fuses #1 and #25 were blown, replaced them and everything worked and continues to work. Likely the fuses were blown by overloading the circuit when I plugged in and turned on a 12 volt tire inflator while charging a phone and a NOCO lithium Jump Starter. No shorts to trace, just avoid doing that again!

If there is a persistent blown fuse and component failure, then the wiring diagram would help to trace the wiring for a short or other fault.

Is this info not located on your fuse box lids?
