A few questions about refilling the front differential oil:

    1. Is 75W-90 the correct type of oil ? That's what the label says on the ADD module.
    2. Is the correct drain plug torque 48 lb-ft and 29 lb-ft for the fill (source) ?
    3. What is the oil amount/capacity I should be looking to pour ?
    4. The fill plug is awkwardly located. Is the best way to fill it to take a hose that will fit through the fill hole, guide it to the top of the engine under the hood, and fit it onto a funnel?

75w-90 is what a lot of people use. A lot of people also use 85w-140.

Idk about the torque as I always go by feel. I find that using a torque wrench on oil plugs is a good way to over torque them because they’re wet (vs dry torque).

I wanna say oil capacity is 1.6 quarts. You just fill until it starts trickling out of the fill plug.

Most common way is to use a pump that screws onto the oil and you hand pump it on.

pretty sure manual calls for 85 but its okay to use 90, very little difference. my drains and fills are an allen key plug. never torqued them with a tool just by hand and its never been a problem. manual tells you the capacity. pump is best way to fill it i have found, make sure you are on level ground too. hope that helps somewhat. I actaully just got some Red Line 75w85 for my transfer case and fromt diff today!

    Another way to pump….
I buy the valvoline gear oil that comes in bags. Easy to fit it up there and squeeze it out.
    Just an option.

I use 75-90w synthetic on all 3 diffs.

changed at 30k miles and oil still looked really clean. Next interval I’m going to 60k miles

I like to put a little Teflon tape on the drain and fill plugs too.
I believe this helps keep them from seizing in place. The drain plug can be a booger so make sure you get that allen key in ALL the way before you start trying to loosen it. Many on this site have stripped out the head.

Every oil fill and drain plug (engine, t case, front and rear diff) has crush washers that essentially form a gasket to keep oil from leaking out.

I don't think the main engine oil plug has a washer
