Hello earthlings! First post here so bare with me. I just inherited a 2012 Tacoma from my pops. I has a regular cab with the classic bench seat. I was hoping to install buckets seats as the bench seats aren't ideal for my passengers with long legs. I know I will have to install two new brackets, as the bench seat only sits on two brackets. I'm hesitant to do this as I would have to drill through the floor of the cab. Any tips? Much appreciated!

Just the first thought that surfaced in my mind, you could make a frame that uses the old seat mounts, basicly just a long rectangle that takes the place of the bench seat frame. Then fab mounts that bolt the new bucket seats to that. Its not the most elegant option, but it allows you to get away without drilling new holes.

You could also make two individual mounts for each seat, but you will have to find a way of strengthening the sheet metal. Maybe welding 1/8 or 3/16 plates to the surface, and a nut on the back side so you do not need someone underneath the truck holding a wrench when you tighten the seat bolts.

One thing to keep in mind is making absolutely certain that the seats won't move in a wreck.

 Yup, like these guys have said before me, any bucket seat from '05 to '20 will bolt in your truck. The big issue you will run into is the airbags, which I am not sure how to work around, since I didn't have to mess with them when I installed the 3rd gen seats in my truck.

That really does look good but those 3rd gen seats hurt my lower back when I drive for more than an hour. I drove a turd gen for 3 months during my frame replacement and no matter how I adjusted the lumbar, it never seemed to help.

Guess I'll have to make my 2nd gen last forever...

I started a discussion on this a few minutes ago. From what I have dug up on Reg Cab Nation on Facebook and forums is that the holes already exist. The hardest part (after finding the seats and console) is the airbag harness issue for 09+. If it is plug and play great but not much info on it
