All the talk recently of frames rotting and dealers replacing them got me thinking.
I bought my tacoma from a used car lot, not a Toyota dealer.
If my frame were to rust/rot and require replacement would a Toyota dealer cover it?
I am already past the warranty provided by the used car lot and past the manufacturer warranty.
I live in the north east and the truck sees road salt every winter.
Ive never bothered to treat the frame with any undercoat because ive never had to on any other vehicle ive owned.
If Toyota would not cover a frame in my situation would it be best for me to trade the truck for something else?

It doesn't matter where you bought your truck, you're still driving one of their products.
The frame recall on the first gens was something that happened way after warranty was up even on the newest ones that series. If this generation has an issue, Toyota will treat it the same way.
    No warranty? No problem!
