    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    If lifting 1 tire, you have to multipy the rotations by 2 tp det an accurate number. The diff being open, causes the DS to spin faster if only 1 tire is lifted.

    I didn't even read close enough to see one lifted not both.:confused:

    Thanks for adding that.....I wasn't sure. If you jack up both, when you spin one wheel doesn't the other just rotate the opposite way and the driveshaft remain still? Been too many years since I've done that and I can't remember!

    Some do, some dont. My 2000 Tacoma, both tires spun the same direction with an open diff....obviously, if there is an LS in the unit, that will also cause both to spin the same....

    Not for a manual. On the manuals, 2000 rpm is about 55. At 65-70, I am running about 2300-2500 rpm with 285/75R16s (speedo adjusted for the tire size). I think he's talking about making the 6th gear equivalent to the automatic transmissions which is geared lower than the manuals.

    Based on economy, if your truck was getting 18mpg highway and you managed to acheive 20mpg highway with a gear change, over 200,000 miles, you'd save 1111 gallons of gas. At $3-$4/gallon that's $3333-$4444 over that mileage span. If you averaged 10,000 miles per year, it would pay off in about 8-10 years based on an install cost of $1500. If you invested the $1500 in something that returned 10%, it'd be worth about $4000 in 10 years.

    The payoff is much sooner should gas rise above $4/gal which seems likely over a 20 year period.

    Where's my solar panel hood? Elon Musk doesn't even have this type of wizardry.

    I would consider an electric conversion if there was a decent mount kit or something of the like.
