I’m now on 255/75R17 tires, which are about 32.1”. 3250 at 80. When I had stock tires it was around 3450. 3250 is quite comfortable to me.

4.88 is overgeared on a stock Tacoma Auto on 31’s. the jump to 4.88s is the same jump you made as the auto comes with 3.90 from factory. Going from 3.90 to 5.29 on stock tires, with the AT, is only for nutjobs, in my opinion of course. I have 4.88s on 32s with an auto and I would not want 5.29. 1st gear is a little short with 4.88s. If I step up to 33’s it will be perfect.

Differences in preferences I suppose. I’m revving a lot more than you in nearly every gear if not all of them and I don’t wish for less gear than I chose. Some say first is “short” but it still maxes out at like 30 mph which is plenty tall enough for me.

4.88’s here not to heavy on 255’s. 70 mph 2100rpms. Imo I could not stand rpms at 3k. When I purchased Revolution Gears I Spoke to a tech and was really helpful for my decision on 4.88’s.
