    Your MPG dropped with regear?

    I figured it would increase.

    The truck is aerodynamically similar to a brick so the MPG is always going to be bad on the highway. I'm just saying that the faster you go the lower the MPG no matter what, but after a re-gear going highway speeds are no more difficult than before.

    Ah fair. I was able to pull 22-24MPG before slapping bigger tires on, assumed regear would get me closer to that. Currently at 14-19mpg

    I can still get 20+ on flat roads going 50, but add in hills, wind, and higher speeds...who knows how low we can go.

    yep. Did that they said 4.88. So did K Flo. So that’s what I went with. For better or for worse too late now can’t really change it.
    Might 4.56 have been a little better cruise a little faster on the highway? Sure. Oh well I just go slower.

    I know speed limits in some parts of the country have been raised to 80 but if you have a trailer that still means max 55 right lane and people go around.

    hopefully it’s only here in CA where the 65 speed limit isn’t really real life and every car is probably actually going 80/flow of traffic.

    I don’t know what position is actually more taxing on the mind. Left or right.
    Because left you’re supposed to pass and give right of way to the person behind you going faster.
    Farther right and slower you can just kinda keep going consistently and with modern power outputs it’s not hard for other cars to speed up or slow down making their way on or off the highway around you.

    Regardless of ratio or RPM, left lane would mean higher speed with wind resistance on this brick of a truck going exponentially up. MPG would probably decrease there.
    It’s not a wedge shaped car cruising efficiently in an auto 8th gear.


    35. The gears should handle 37.
    4.0 V6. 65-70 is around 2700RPM. Tad high.

    Above 65mph legal limit “speeding” would turn higher.
    80-90? That might be 3300rpm or higher. Redline isn’t that high.

    with a flat slick roof? Sure no problem.
    But roof rack and Plano case boxes? probably not gonna be cruising 80-90. Even if it was legal which in some areas 80 is nowadays.
