They haven't affected mpg the slightest bit. I have always gotten around 16.5-18, currently I'm getting a steady 17.5. Surprisingly I saw no change in MPG and I did the lift and tires at the same time. Its actually not lifted, just leveled the front end, but you know what I mean. They ride very very smooth, no difference in ride comfort from my OEM street tires that came off. There is a slight humm with the windows down and radio off, but its so small you will only notice it for the first week. The are great and I've heard they last A LONG TIME! Great for street or dirt. I run them at 35 psi, and air down to 20-24 when off road. I'm 2wd with LSD and have been able to to things that stock 4x4 had difficulty with. Tires made a huge difference. They give the aggressive look with a comfortable ride and great reputation. They are the BF Goodrich TA KO 265/70/17. I wish I did the 285's but that's only because I off road, but with stock height or even a 2" lift I think 265's are great. If I got the 285's I would want another 1-2" of lift (which I do want anyways) but with the setup I have I think its good. I'm pretty sure once I put 17x9 rims it will widen them out and they will stand out a lot more. That's what I'm hoping for at least.

I have been getting a consistent 17 mpg all winter long with the Hankook Dynapro ATM LT265/70r17's. Now I am seeing about 20mpg's on average. I expect as summer comes, I will see 22+ mpg's like last year.

OZ-T has it right, 275/70r17's on my stock 2012 TRD sport now. When those ware out, might have 255/85r17 KM2's and big trimming.

    Actually 255/80/17 is approx 33 1/4" , 255/85/17 would be about 34 1/4"

and I have yet to trim anything with my 255/85/16's. they also don't rub my frame or LCA like my 265/70/17's did. they slightly rub one little piece of plastic ill be cutting off this weekend

I was just kind of messing with him. I'm not sure of the advantages to either except having more sidewall with 16s. Perhaps with a light 17" wheel and less rubber you could shed a few lbs? Idk

    16" is cheaper

    more sidewall

    more choices of wheels

    more choices of tires

+ everyone thinks bigger is better so used 16's are easy to find cheap with a little looking. I found (8) 16" matching steel wheels locally for $12.50 per wheel (got 4 free and paid $100 for 4)

I've got 265/75/16 BFG AT. I'm not going to sugar coat this I get worse gas milage. However I can handle this due to how well it fits the wheel well much better and how it handles off road. Bigger tires=more cost at the pump. It's all about what your wallet can handle.
