An STI? What were your reasons/needs for a truck? Will the STI meet your needs? Who pays for the insurance? I know insurance for a 16yr old driving a 300hp performance vehicle is outrageous.

My first car was a $200 VW bug that I paid for. I drove it for 7 years before I could afford to buy a new car. I had to rebuild the engine before I could drive it. Amazing how someone can be given a huge gift and turn their nose at it because it isn't good enough. I'm never giving my kids a car, apparently doing that makes them unappreciative.

Lol, good luck even getting insurance on an STI. A straight out WRX would be more realistic...

When I was 21 I had a '92 Dodge Stealth R/T TT (AWD, 300hp) and I paid Allstate almost 280 a month until I switched to USAA (got in through family) and then I paid 170/mo just insurance.

I wish i got 4x4.. when i bought my Tacoma i thought you NEEDED the TRD package to get 4x4.. and the TRD was out of my range. so i went for a prerunner loaded.. if i knew the prerunner could come with 4x4 and NO TRD.. i would be driving that now..

I loved my Granada.. i learned how to rebuild engines, break systems, transmissions.. everything on that car.. I was proud of it.. but.. damn was that car ugly. :) Great learning experience.. now it's a hobby.. i originally bought the Tacoma so i had a truck to haul parts / tow my dodge.

I love that "better to have it and not need it" argument. Get a good laugh every time.

So I have a handgun but what if 10 people break in my house at once? I might need a full auto AR15 then. Or maybe a SAW. Or maybe a tank.

Seriously, it depends on your wants/needs. My truck goes everywhere I need or want. You know, like the mall.

I made the same mistake with a 2wd dodge ram. Lifted it then got stuck and a ford ranger pulled me out, lol. After that I truly believe a truck isn't a truck unless its 4wd!

The 4WD option itself doesn't lose value.

i bet they would give you a good deal on a trade in for a 2010. I have read stories of people getting nearly what they paid on trade in's.

in some cases I regret not getting a 4x4.... but to be honest its just depend on the applications.... for me a do a lot runnin in the desert just cuz of where i live haha... but to be honest i think prerunners are very underestimated.... dont get me wrong there is a big difference... but i dont think prerunners are "pointless"....IMO

That'd be one bullet for every person...start practicing, or get a high capacity mag. I personally have the 15 round mags...3 of them, i got 45 chances, first thing your learn with the police is that the only thing you can do with an empty gun is throw it.

Oh I'm good. I "practice" once a week at least. I have no use for or need for a high capacity mag at all. We're back to my original argument with that one.

I'm not sure why anyone would buy a 2wd. At least around here, you pay more up front but get the same in added value when you trade it in.

Its an even-money investment in something that you can use throughout the life of ownership. Why not take up that offer.

I guess someone may not have the little extra money to buy a 4wd but then maybe you should be looking at a cheaper vehicle. Should never stretch yourself that thin.

    Better gas mileage...maybe?

Wow...at 16 I wish I had a nice Truck. Be thankful that your parents bought you a car at all. Finish school and then buy your own 4x4 truck. You will appreciate it more. I know. You have it much better than most 16 year olds. 2wd are very capable trucks.

yes. you can get an SR5 4x4 non-TRD. basically my Prerunner SR5.. but 4x4. I thought that would be fairly obvious..
