I think the bench is pretty comfortable - as benches go. I occasionally need to carry two passengers (kids), so I need to keep the bench for now, but I have wondered if it would be possible to swap in buckets from an '05-up Taco. My main concern would be keeping the side airbags... I wouldn't want to loose those. I assume the connections for the bags in the factory buckets would be the same as those in my bench, correct?

    Raven,
I have a 09 Std. Cab which i believe is 1st year to include side air bags. Unfortunately it's also the 1st year to not offer buckets....:(. You might want to do more checking although the buckets from 08 and back may not have a side air bag hook-up.

Well why not use buckets from a newer access or double cab that has the side airbags as well? I would think that would probably work...?

The SR5 package has been dropped for 2011 but bucket seats are back with the regular cab 4x4 Automatic. The regular cab 4x4 manual still has the bench seat.

After being on the bench for four and half years with my 2006 Regular Cab 2WD Auto I ordered a 2011 Regular Cab 4WD Auto. Several positions for back adjustment would have been great. It seemed either the legs or the arms would not have a comfortable reach. So I settled for the legs getting the best position and sort of had to lean into the wheel even with the marginal adjusting steering wheel.

I was surprised to see the buckets come back and to have the auto in the 4WD in the second generation. I looks like the Regular Cab PreRunner is gone according to Toyota.com and the PDF brochure. Talk about packaging!

Good find on the WRX seats. They will offer more support and better positioning. They look good!

I have a set of seats I purchased for a 2009 regular cab. They are from a 2008 Access cab. I sold my RC and bought an access cab before installing. Still have the seats. If I have a post on 1/17/12 with pictures if you're intersted.
